Leitrim-Roscommon

I am researching the MCGREEVY name in my family tree. My great-great grandfather was JOHN MCGREEVY born Ireland 1843 but I have no idea where abouts. They came and settled in Liverpool. His father was called HAMILTON MCGREEVY born c1811 and also came to Liverpool. I have noticed that a lot of McGreevys came from or near Roscommon and I am hoping for any information on this family

Thank you very much for your reply. In the 1881 census John McGreevy has children named Harriet, James and Elizabeth (as well as others) so it is likley he named them after his mother and brother and sister. I's great information and will be very halpful to my research.
