Looking for connected families of Annaghmacullen and Sranadarragh, Leitrim. Specifically, Keegan's and related. Patrick Keegan and Bridget Duignan (married in 1853) of Annaghmacullen and James Keegan and Rose Doorigan (married in 1860) of Sranadarragh. The Doorigan's are from Gortnacamadarragh. I believe the Duignan's are from Tooma.
Both had children who went to Rhode Island and married there. Any connections??? Becky

Hi Becky
How are things? and Happy New Year.

1) You've probably got these but I picked these up on the Ellis Island site recently.

1907 Jun 22nd John Keegan, (33) of Faughill; To cousin Bernard Garvey, 51 Florence St, Providence RI.

1907 Mar 16th Francis Keegan, (24) of Faughill; return visit; to friend Francis McGovern, 364 Gold St, Brooklyn.

1907 Mar 16th John Keegan, (32) Faughill
to friend Francis McGovern 364 Gold St Brooklyn.

1908 Sep 25th James Keegan,(28) Cloone, son of Mrs James Keegan Annaghmacullen to Kansas. Destination overwrtitten with 'Archbishop Hogan'

1910 Oct 3rd John Keegan,(20) Cloone; son of Nicholas Keegan To sister Mrs M McGowan 113 North 9th St. Brooklyn, .

1914 May 2nd John Keegan, (40) Faughill, brother of Tom; returning home; to cousin Bernard Garvey, 51 Florence St; Providence RI;

2) I had not realised you were in Rhode Island. What would be the possibility of you finding a death record for me? The lad in question died 1895 and is buried in St Francis Cemetery in Pawtucket.

3) The other thing is I have ordered the film of the Cloone parish records and it should arrive shortly. I intend to do a pretty exhaustive search through it over the next 2 or 3 months,Are there any specific people you want me to keep an eye open for?

4) I hope to go to Belfast later this year to trawl through the Maden records (if possible). Amongst other families I will be looking for Keegans. If you want to make out a 'list' of possible questions and e-mail me, I'll try to do what I can. I can't see me going before perhaps May or so, so you have plenty of time.

Cheers

Jim

HI Jim,
Happy New Year to you as well. The last year was a bit of a challenge for us but I am hoping for better this year.

Thank you for the Ellis Island data. I will compare it to what I have and see if it brings anything new to light. Looks like there might be a few new ones that I might be able to connect.

I am in Rhode Island and will be happy to see what I can find for you. A death record in that time frame should be easiy to find. Let me know what you need. St. Francis cemetery is not all that far either should you need a picture of the gravestone.

I will take a look at my files to see what I need in the Cloone records and get back to you. You are a gem for asking. Thank you, Becky
