John,
Appreciate your help. It does not appear we are from the same "clan."
My grandfather was Thomas Beagan, from Greaghawarren, County Fermangh. He came to USA in 1896 and settled in Rhode Island. He came with his mother Catherine Beagan.
I have "mixed signals" on my grandmother Margaret (O'Hara) Beagan. I have indications that she was born in County Leitrim and County Longford. I had Leitrim search for her birth certificate with negative results; so I will pursue the Longford information.
The name Beagan, is fairly uncommon, and I have placed some inquiries on the forums to see if I can't find some help exploring my Irish roots.
Thanks for your reply, Ron Beagan
