hello everyone....
I've been trying to trace my Cassidy ancestors in Roscommon for some years now, but have found new information...
It turns out Patrick Cassidy (whos father was Patrick) When married to Margaret Ford at Warrington,England 1872, lied about hes age so he could marry without his parents present, saying he was 21 when in fact was younger...
On census returns Patrick noted Castlereagh,Roscommon as his birthplace
the following information is as far as I have got in Ireland through a search via Roscommon Geneology company...
Patrick Cassidy, son of Patrick and Mary Cassidy baptised on 12th May 1854 (Ballaghaderreen RC Baptisms vol 1 p 37)
Just wondered if any of the above information relates to any traces in anyones (Cassidy) or others family history??
i am just off now to register on the Cassidy clan site...
After years of wanting to visit Roscommon and never getting there we will definately be visiting Ireland to pursue research further,in the New Year....
Many thanks to anyone who can give info on where to search/ or help/info re: family connections..
