I am searching for the ancestry of :-
Micheal Keenan (unknown) and his wife Mary (b.1795 Balantober Rosc,d 1859).

They had the following children :-
Martin Keenan, b.1821 Annaught Rosc. d1877
Mary Keenan, b.1825, Ireland.
Bridget Keenan, b 1825, Annaught or Stokestown
Catherine Keenan b.1829 Ballantober
Ellen Keenan b.1830

The family moved to the Wigan/Westhoughton area of Lancashire probably between 1841 and 1848.

I am in touch with Daniel Sollars who is a descendant of Martin Keenan, and my wife is a descendant of Ellen Keenan (who married Patrick Carroll, born in Dublin, in 1848 at Hindley in Lancashire).

We would very much like to know more about the Keenan's ancestory in Ireland.

I too am a descendant of Michael and Mary Keenan [born Ballintober circa 1795 also - Bridget Keenan [born Strokestown, Roscommon, Connaught] was my great great grandmother. Bridget's son Martin had three children [who survived to adulthood] - my grandmother - Alice Ann born Hindley 1892; Thomas born Hindley 1895; and Ellen born Hindley 1897.
