Townlands Lavagh, Cargin and Mahon's Yard

Hi there,
I have been researching a family variously known as Helfort/Helford/Telfer/Elwood.
Thomas Helford married Bridget Feehilly or Fechelly in 1865 in the RC church in Strokestown. Their addresses vary in the parish registers and the civil record. In the parish record, Thomas is listed as living in Mahon's Yard and Bridget in Cargin -the civil record lists the opposite. Thomas's father's name in the parish register is John and James is the name on the civil record. Bridget's father is Thomas.
They had several children in Roscommon - all born in Lavagh townland, where Thomas is listed as a small farmer.
I hope to visit the area in April and wondered if anyone had any connections with this family, or could suggest some other sources I could investigate to find out more about Thomas and Bridget's parents.
Thanks.
