Related Surname Info: Ann Carney, wife of John, born c 1805 had 6-7 children. Two of her sisters\' names were Bridget and Jane. She, and perhaps the family, moved to Birmingham where she was convicted for stealing at the Warwich Assizes in March 1847 and sentenced to transportation to VDL. Later that year she boarded the \"Cadet\". She took three of her children, Ellen, William and Edward, with her. I am a direct descendant of Edward and have full details of their life in Tasmania.
