People might be interested in the recently enhanced Irish Newspaper Archives website www.irishnewsarchive.com which provides access to archives from the Irish Independent as well as a selection of provincial newspapers such as the Roscommon Sentinel, Leitrim Observer, Connaught Telegraph, Galway City Tribune and Tuam Herald. I have found their 24-hour subscription for 10 euro very good value. Happy reading!
