Trying to find out where in Ireland our Curley family comes from.<br>I think there is a good chance that they are from the Rosscommon area.<br>I have a Huge Curley b. about 1794. His wifes name is Bridget.<br>She was born about 1802. They have a son named Thomas H. Curley b.in 1827. All three of them were born in Ireland. Between 1827 and 1834 they moved to Canada. There Thomas married Susanna Everson in about 1849. I have a lot of information on Thomas and susanna and their children but we need to find out where Huge was from. Thomas and Huge were both Stonemasons, bricklayers. Eventually Thomas and Susanna moved to the state of Michigan in the United States about 1853-54. <br>Thomas Curley was born in Ireland and came to Canada and <br>married there. Thomas and wife Susanna moved to Michigan<br>about 1853 or 1854. <p>Records show that Thomas and Susanna were living in Chinquacousy Township, Ontario, Canada in 1851. Later records show that <br>Thomas and Susanna were living in Paisly, Bruce Co., Ontario in 1865 when they signed papers to quit-claim Susanna interest in the estate of her father. <br>The names of Thomas Curley's parents are assumed because they <br>were found on census records living with them. This is the only <br>"proof" we have at this time. Currently trying to find more <br>proof of the relationship.<p>The 1851 Chinquacousy Census, District 4 page 199 shows that <br>Thomas and Susanna also have Thomas's parents in the house,<br>Bridget and Hugh. There is also a boy named Francis Matdam born in Ireland that is only 10 years old living with them. I have no idea who this boy is. It also shows that Thomas and his father are both masons, and that they all live in a frame house that is 1 1/2 stories.<p>Will be happy to share any information and would appreciate any suggestions.
