I am researching my grandfather's family from the townland of Cavan, parish of Inishmagrath (north shore of Lough Allen between Drumkeeran & Dowra), Co. Leitrim. My grandfather Michael Wynne was born Michael Guihan in 1887 (d. 1929 Brooklyn, NY, USA). His parents were Philip Guihan (c.1830-1909) and Winifred "Una" Carrigan (1844-1923). His siblings were Mary "Mamie" McGovern (Worcester, Massachusetts), John, Patrick, Bridget, James (Massachusetts), and Catherine "Kate" Carrigan. Michael's grandparents was John Guihan (c.1797-1880) and Susan (possibly Judith Trower or Travers?). We may be related to the Guihans of Tullynaroog, as well as other Guihan / Wynne families in the area. Any further information would be appreciated. Thanks.

Guihan / Guihen / Guighan / Wynne
Re: Guihan / Guihen / Guighan / Wynne
My father's name is John Thomas Guihan Jr., and his brother is Micheal Guihan. My father has reunited with some of the relatives from Ireland, and we have a family tree somewhere which I am in the process of trying to obtain. We recently had a semi-Guihan reunion in July and I am in the process of posting pictures of the Guihan family on my web site so you may want to check my web site in a couple weeks and see if we look anything like you. www.geocities.com/michele_guihan
It makes a difference how Guihan is pronounced whether there's a relation. Is it (Guy in) or (Gee an)?
Let me know if you'd be interested in our family tree.
Michele Guihan
: I am researching my grandfather's family from the townland of Cavan, parish of Inishmagrath (north shore of Lough Allen between Drumkeeran & Dowra), Co.
