7 Mulvey Brothers that Drowned on the River Shannon

Post by Susan J Mulvey »

Searching for any family the seven Mulvey brothers that drowned on the River Shannon. All I know is this Mulvey family was from Roscommon. My husband is a descendant of Michael and Delia (Bridget)Gunning who immigrated to Boston in the late 1800s. Michael's parents were Patrick and Mary.
Ring any bells?
Regards,
Susan

Leitrim, Ireland. Phone - 078 44012 with fax - 078 44425. They sent me a copy from the Ardagh and Clonmacnois Antiquity Journal 1 (3) (1932):14 -19 which speaks of the Moran's and Mulvey's. I was delighted to receive it and have found their early territories on the current map. That just may open up pathways for you. How long ago was the drowning? They may give you advice on how to proceed. If not and it was a long time ago, on your computer go to the LDS website, go to the LDS library or Library Collection, go to Roscommon, go to local places, go to Kilronan or Killukin, go to church records, rent the films, and look at the death records if there are any.(You may need to try other places along the Shannon) Seven brothers should stand out in the records if the date of the drowning is within the dates recorded. Good luck and best wishes. CRM
