PATRICK CAME TO THE USA, ABOUT 1881, AND SETTELED IN NYC, ANY INFO WOULD BE HELPFUL, THANKS<p>Hi.<br>My grandfather was named Patrick (PJ) McDermott. He was born in Roscommon to Edward McDermott and Elizabeth Higgins. My mother was named Mary Elizabeth so, although the Elizabeth doesn't fit, everything else seems close. He married my grandmother, owned a bar in Times Square during Prohibition and WWII and lived in Cliffside Park, NJ just across the river from NYC. I never knew him personally since he died before I was born in 1952. I think he died sometime near then, perhaps 1951. The thing that doesn't seem right is that he wasn't that old when he died. Somewhere in his 60's I think. So maybe it's not the same fellow. Hope this helps.<p>cheers.
