I would like to introduce myslef as miss patricia feeney. At the present moment. I am traceing my family tree this is what i have so far. My farther was patrick feeney born in tuskl the parish of kilcooley also near storkestown the townland being lisneanane. My grandfarther was also born here i know all of my grandfarthers family and i know all of there names and where they were born. I have also found out that my greatgrandfarther was also born in lisneanane. but because the tuskl parish church only goes back to 1864 i will be finding it hard to find his birth certificate. Would anyone have any suggestions. My greatgrandfarthers name was john feeney. Also i have found out that my greatgreatgrandfarther paid the griffthis tax evaluation in 1847 to a robert nolan and i think that he must have had a brother because he paid tax and his name was bernard feeny. And also would there be any way that anyone in ireland might have the death certificates. Of kilcooley or tuskl. Also strokestown. Which is a town very near tuskl if anyone has any batisms. Or fichese.
i would be very greatful for anyones help in helping me to trace my family tree
I believe he was born in the Strokestown area, possibly near Ballyfeeney. He immigrated to the US in the mid 1800's & married by grandmother, Allie Tapley Feeney. They had two children, Marcella Feeney Durden and Duncan C. Feeney. If you have any information on a Denis (Dennis) Feeney in your family tree, I'd appreciate you sharing it with me. Thanks
But i am only guessing that my greatgrandfarther could a have been born in tuskl or strokestown. because of the kilcooley church records only go back to 1865. So i think that perhaps my greatgrandfarther could have been born in stroekestown. but i don't really think that theses feeneys or feeny could be related not unless you have a wedding certificate which tells who the farther was. i also don't think that any of my feenys emergrated. The only other person realted to mygreagtreagrandaferther was his brother bernard feeney i don't know if their are any denis.
from patricia

To betty i have just found out that my greatgreatgreat uncle bernard feeny lived and died in strokestown workhouse he was 44 in 1864 i also know that he was married with children but the only other problem that i have is it does not say his wifes name. so what i have done is written off to roscommon libary to see if i can have a list of all the people that were there. if not i will have to go to strokestown and trt and find his wedding certificate so there is a roscommon connection there but i don't know about dennis.
: from patricia
