I'm looking for the names of english regiments that young Irish men who left home may have done voluntary service with in ww2.<br>My Father Michael Conboy left Leitrim at the age of 16 to just that and i would like to know which regiment he was with.<p>thanks<p>George Conboy

He enlisted in London I believe, he was in the 25th ITC of the Royal Ulster Rifles. His enlistment date was 11.9.1940 when he was just 20 years old. He was in Grp 40-C. Kath<p>Hi george<br>My uncle served with the royal engineers form july 1940-june-1946 have you tried the m.o.d. they were very helpful,i managed to get his service and p.o.w records,i still have the addresses if you neeed them.<br> Good Luck<br> Paula<br>
