New Haven, Connecticut in particular was a popular immigration point for those from Leitrim. Does anyone know the history behind it?

I was told that a Leitrim man did the hiring for the New haven railroad and he was partial in his hiring practices.<p>

I was told that a Leitrim man did the hiring for the New haven railroad and he was partial in his hiring practices.<p>If you are in New Haven go to Sacred Heart Parish and ask to see their records<br>The Leitrim Names Mulvey, Reynolds , Bohan repeate over and over again<br>The local Cemetary St Lawrence & St Bernard grave stones have leitrim names and town lands.<br>In 1949 The New Haven Gaelic Football & Hurling Club was formed.<br>The founders Jim McGuinness Drumhane Mohill, John Reynolds Cloone, Patrick Bohan Mohill, Sean Scollan Fenagh.<br>They all came to aunts & uncles who came at the turn of the century.<br>The Club the formed has 1500 members a football field and hall.
