As far as my records go, during the potato famine Joseph Garrahan moved to Manchester England from Ireland -- I believe it was County Cork -- but I could be wrong, anyone with any information on the lineage of the Garrahan family please contact me.

Searching for Garrahan,
Re: Searching for Garrahan,
I have been able to trace my branch of the Garrahan family back to a Joe Garrahan leaving County Westmeath - Moyvore, during the potato famine and going to Argentina where the descendants still dwell. There are still Garrahan's that are not related to my family (maybe fourth or fifth cousins)living in the general area - Ballymore. I do not know of anyone living in Cork or going to the UK. If I can help some more please contact me<br>

Re: Searching for Garrahan,
My family records show that a Timothy Garrahan, also spelled Garihan, died in Kings County Ireland in 1828. He was married to Katherine Lawlor. Their son Christopher came to the US in the 1830's, settling in Framingahm Massachusetts, and dying there in 1904. He was married to Catherine Ford born in 1834, who arrived in the US in 1840 as a young child with her parents, Catherine Lee and Thomas Ford, both born in Ireland in 1800. Garrahan decsendents of Christopher, and of his wife's siblings, the Fords, still reside in Framingham, as well as elsewhere in the US.
