As it turns out,
the Civil Parish of Tibohine has been completely
entered in our Leitrim-Roscommon Griffiths data
base.
I just did a search of the surname Dockery, and
I see that 3 unique names come up for the Civil
Parish of Tibohine. There are many others in
other Parishes as well, but just wanted to make
sure you were aware that the Griffiths data base
is complete for that area and may be of some use
to you.
Additionally, I maintain a listing of all my GRO
records that I have on file, and I see that there
is one Dockery listed in my GRO births. You can
view these records at the following URL:
http://www.thecore.com/~efinn/gene/GRO_ ... a>
Good luck with your research.
Ed Finn
efinn@thecore.com
ICQ# 7780675

Roscommon maybe in the Fairymount - Castlerea area
Myra,
There were Dockerys in Legan, Kilglass Parish, in the early 1800s. James Dockery emigrated from there to the US, arriving in New York June 3, 1845. He was born Feb. 1814. He lived for a time in Burrillville and then in Brooklyn in eastern Connecticut. He married Mary Foley who came from Killegan in Kilglass. I believe he was related, perhaps a cousin, to my Riley ancestors.
I also have information from the National Archives on a Peter Dockray of Glocester, RI. He was born in Roscommon on June 25, 1821. He arrived in the US on Oct. 27, 1848, and was naturalized in Providence in 1862.
The Burrillville vital records give evidence of one or two other Dockery families there in the mid or late 1800s.
Please contact me if you want to discuss further. Good luck.

I realize that
Athlone is right on the line between Roscommon
and Westmeath. How close is that to Castlerea?
My great-grandfather was James Finneran, married
Bridget Mullen (or Mullins - not sure). I suspect
he was born around 1865. Any
suggestions as to where to begin looking?
Thanks,
Brian
