Thanks John, I still have to plan a trip to Salt Lake for one of the 4 day reasearch sessions. The LDS lookup here is small and very slow and not convenient, especially in Winter. I was hoping someone in Ireland might have access to the info. I am trying very hard to prove the link between my grandf...

SLIEVEROE Townland, Rosc. 1911 Census

Need lookup of the families (there are only a few) residing in the townland of Slieveroe, County Roscommon, in the 1911 Census. I need to see if the Mylott(mylet) and Farrell families are still there and their names, ages etc.
Thanks for any help you can give me.

Thank you, I will try to locate the book you mentioned. I would be interested in reading it.
I located both Families in Griffith's Valuation. Due to lack of other records, I have to assume that both families survived the famine and went on to farm about 25-30 acres each.
Thanks again,

The Henry Mahon and The Lord De Freyne Estates

Does anyone have any knowledge of how these two large landholders treated their tenents and any history of their estates? My ancestors the Moyletts(Lord DeFreyne) and the Tiernans(Mahon) were tenents on their property and I was interested in learning some background.
Thanks,

Ed, Thank you for your response. The mention of the name McGrath rang bell. Back in 2002 there was a posting, on the Mylet bulletin board(Roots and Ancestry.com), by an Erin O. stating that her G-Grandfather was John McGrath from Frenchpark and that his parents were Peter McGrath and Elizabeth Mylot...

Mike,
Do you know if some of the Nerney family came to New York City? They pronounced it Neary.
I remember the name being mentioned by my Grandmother, Winifred Tiernan.(Patrick and Mary's oldest daughter) She came to NYC about 1900.
