My great-great-grandparents were Francis McPadden and Bridget Darcy.<br>Francis McPadden is shown in Griffith's Valuation (1856-57) as leasing land in Greaghnaglogh, Inishmagrath civil parish, Killargue R.C. parish, County Leitrim, Ireland.<p>Notice of intention to marry on 5 December 1855 was listed in the Manorhamilton Banns Register.<p>Children of Francis and Bridget:<p>Bridget McPadden, b. abt. 1861, d. 1934 Edinburgh, Scotland, married Patrick Gaffney, had 2 daughters: Margaret Gaffney; Ellen Gaffney, b. abt 1885, married Edward Darcy, d. 1963<p>Margaret McPadden, b. 6 August 1864, Greaghnaglogh, married John Darcy<p>Mary McPadden, b. 25 March 1866, Greaghnaglogh<p>Myles McPadden, b. 21 November 1868, Greaghnaglogh<p>Anne McPadden, b. 24 August 1870, Gowlaun, married Bernard Mawn in 1896 Edinburgh. Margaret's father was Thomas Cullen, a collier. Michael's residence is given as Gowlaun. Margaret's residence is given as "The Colliery Co. Leitrim." The marriage was witnessed by Francis McGowan and Maggie Gilhooly. For age, both are listed as "Minor."<p>Children of Michael and Margaret:<p>Mary McPadden, 16 May 16 1896 Knockateean (Michael's residence is Greaghnaglogh in birth record), d. 1919 NYC. Mary had a son, James Finnegan, born 7 days before her death.<p>Margaret Cullen McPadden died 15 February 1897, age 21 years, at Knockateean. Cause of death was TB.<p>Michael McPadden married Mary Horan on 30 December 1897. Age of both listed as "Full." Witnesses were John Horan and Catherine Horan. John Horan, brother of Mary Horan McPadden, got my grandfather a job in the subways. Three sisters, Kate, Elizabeth, and Theresa, came over also (I'm not sure when).<p>Thomas married Bridget McCann (who went by Agnes) in NYC, 1924(?). My grandmother was born in Derryronane, near Swinford, County Mayo in 1904, parents John McCann and Anne Cassidy.<p>John was killed at the site of his construction job in 1927. He was not married.<p>Catherine married Daniel O'Donnell. (don't know names of children)<p>Elizabeth married Edward Chambers. (No children)<p>Theresa married Theodore Bean, had daughters Ethel Bean and Elsie Bean. Ted Bean was murdered in a fight, after which Theresa married John Dunn and had sons Michael Dunn and John Dunn.<p>
