Looking for ancestry of Michael Toohey (possibly Towey), born about 1832, who married Bridgit Connor. There were 6 children born with the youngest being Patrick Toohey (1872) who went to USA in 1892.
Family line is from Roscommon. Any info would be appreciated,
Thank you.

Thanks Kathy. My Patrick is quite the elusive one. Get in touch with me at Sharynn@binnig.com. Have received some good leads from other Towey tracers.

Any info would be appreciated,
: Thank you.
Sharynn: The baptismal records at St. Nathy's Cathedral,
Ballaghaderreen include the following entries for children of Michael
Towey and Bridget Connor of the townland of Dernacartha: Mary, July
8, 1859; Atty, June 17, 1864; Bridget, January 29, 1867 (Derreens);
Catherine, July 16, 1869, and Patrick, April 12, 1872. Don't know
what happened to the 6th child, but you may be able to pick out
her/his baptism from amongst the entries where the mother's surname
and townland were not recorded; these are mainly in the 1850s. Or
perhaps the child was born during the interval between late 1861 and
mid-1864 when the baptisms were unrecorded at St. Nathy's. If you
are near an LDS Church Family History Center, ask them to borrow
microfilm 1279232 for you. Civil records begin in 1864, and you can
locate Atracta's on LDS microfilm 101088, born May 2, and Bridget's
on microfilm 101143, born December 25, 1866. For Catherine, try
microfilm 101193, and for Patrick, try microfilm 255854. You could
also look for Michael on the CD-ROM index to Griffith's Valuation
Survey to find the size of their farm. Unfortunately, you can't
expect to find any records for them earlier than the 1850s. Let me
know if you would like suggestions on other records to look at for
the family. Dick
