Ken,
My greatgrandmother was Catherine"Kate" Quinn, dau. of Patrick& Bridget Quinn Perth(?) Eire. Family lore has it she came here @ approx. 11 yrs of age and possibly with her twin sister Bridget> She was born Oct. 6,1858/59. She married my grandfather, John Costello and lived primarily in the Greene & Jersey county areas of Central Illinois. She died,Oct. 3, 1943 and is buried in St. John's Cemetery in Carrollton, Greene County, Illinois. My info as yet is very scanty on the Quinn's. My greatgrandparents were married April 30,1879 in the town of Brighton, Macoupin County, Illinois, witnesses were Thomas and Mary Ann Costello, my greatgrandfathers brother and his wife. The priest was J. D Metzler. I have received some information in the last week or so that my gggrandfather/mother were Costello's (Thomas) from the Kilkeevan, Roscommon area, actually the area where a Cruice/Cruise were married and gggrandmother may have actually been of the Mormon persuasion!! For now, I am TRYING to concentrate on just the direct link to my paternal side but if anything else should come my way, I sure wouldn't be adverse to accepting it; just have to curb my FAST growing "genealogical addiction"! Also, thru marriages, we have along with Quinn's, McCully/McCullough's, the afore mentioned Cruice/Cruises. I have a bit of info on them if any of this may be a clue or help for you. If not, "circular file" it and I am sorry for the intrusion. Oh, by the way, GREAT bit on your Quinn history and a beautiful baby!
Regards,
Teresa
