The Y or male chromosome is passed unchanged from father to son to son etc. If you or a member of your family are a male named Glennon, you have the same Y-DNA as your Glennon ancestor. A group of (so far) 8 men named Glennon in the US and Ireland are starting a Y-DNA study to see if all Glennons descend from a common ancestor or if the Glennon name sprang up about the same time in different places in Ireland.
