Flanagan's of Cloonfree

Post by Rob Flanagan Stieglitz »

I just recently found my family is from Cloonfree. Thomas Flanagan, born ~1835-6, was from Cloonfree. This was engraved on his headstone where he is buried at Clavary Cemetery in Queens, NY. Have written to the Roscommon Heritage Center in Strokestown but have not heard anything for 3 months. Anyone have a connection?
Thanks,
Rob

John,
Thanks for the information. My gg Grandfather Thomas, named his first child/son James. The family seemed to follow the "Irish" pattern so I believe that James is Thomas' Father and my ggg grandfather. Thomas came to NYC with a brother Patrick, so I believe the ones you have listed must be his Uncle/cousin. I can't wait for to hear from Roscommon!
Rob
