I would like to learn more about my Carrigan ancestors, especially their connnection to the chapel of Kilbride near Drumkeeran. My g-grandmother, Winifred "Una" Carrigan Guihan (1844-1923) was born in the townland of Shass, Inishmagrath. Her parents, Denis Carrigan of Shass (c.1792-1880) and Mary (McMorrow?)(c.1802-1877) are buried inside the chapel of Kilbride. I have been told that the Carrigans built the chapel during the Penal Laws, and retain the right to be buried inside. I'd like to trace back to the builders. Also curious about connecting the three known branches of the family: Thady Carrigans, Mansheen Carrigans, and Patsy Donal Carrigans. Any info would be appreciated. Thanks.
