Marriage registration, Rank or Profession, R C ?

In an 1868 marriage registration for Co. Leitrim, the rank or<br>profession for each person (bride, groom, each father) appears to be<br>R C(at first I thought it was R 6). The only thing I can think of is<br>Roman Catholic, but I don't know how that would fit into rank or<br>profession. Any help is appreciated.<br>Thanks, Ken Ward

Came accross these abbrev. on National Archive database, in use for Relief Commission letters from 1846-1847. Don't know if abbrev are modern use as must be in ireland to view actual documents...<p>All letters are to the Relief Commission, unless otherwise stated. Square brackets are included when a personal name, place name or date is unclear or unidentifiable.
