Five Kelly residences in 1901 Census. Four in phonebook today. Now spelled Kilcastle; Area Code 09.

He's listed in the 1901 census as from "Kilcashel" as well although I don't recall him ever saying that in his address. He was born in 1901 and listed as 1 month old in that census. He was the youngest of 13! His father was Pat. The house next to his ,he always told us, had 12 Kelly children! He, as well as several of his brothers and sisters and several of those first cousins, immigrated to Boston in the 1910-1920's or so. He always said, "Parish of Moore, proud but poor."

There is no Moore village as such. You might find Ballydangan on a good road map. The parish is about half way between Athlone and Ballinasloe on the main Galway Road.
I have a copy of a tenant list for the St. George family from a few years after the Griffiths that I think covers much of this area and I will check it for you.
You may know that Moore was right in the middle of the O'Kelly Kingdom known as Hy Manny so there were a lot of them in the parish.
Hope this helps.
Phil Daly
