I'm looking for any information anyone might have on my great grandparents who I belive came from Roscommon. All I have on them so far is the following:
John Eardly (Farmer)married Mary Lee and had the following children:
Annie (1884)
Patrick (1886) - my grandfather
Mary (1888)
James (1890)
Bridget (1893
John (1896)

John McFarlane married Annie Wynn and them emigrated to Scotland where they had the following family:
Francis (1885)
Kate (1887)
John (1890)
Margaret (1894) - my grandmother
Michael (1896)

I have searched through the Leitrim/Roscommon pages for hours to see if I can find anything but so far I can't find a trace of anyone! I can't even find any census records for my grandfather's family in 1901. It's like they never existed, except I know they did because my mother visited them in Ireland many years ago before she was married. Also, John Eardly owned a farm but I cna't find any records of land belonging to a John Eardly. Unfortunately, my mother doesn't remember an awful lot about where the lived within Rosommon but she did provide me with the details I've listed above.
Please, please, please if you have any information on these people I would be eternally grateful if you could send me it.

Re: Wynn, Lee, Eardly & McFarlane - Roscommon
Hazel, I have done a lot of research on the Roscommon Wynns who went to Scotland. The biggest obstacle I encountered lay in the fact that the "Wynns" had only adopted that surname at the time of migration. Back in Roscommon, they had been known as Guihan, Guihen and Guiheen.
I will attempt to contact you 'off-the-board' so that I can assist you to sort out your Roscommon ancestors.

None is in Roscommon.
I think that the name could be Early. Furthermore, there's a family in Glasdrumman in Kilronan parish in the 1901 census that fits, though without Anne.
There's John (41), Maria(44),Patrick(14),Mary(12),James(10),Bridget(8),John(6). The ages fit, don't you think.
