Hoare/Hoar

Post by Ruth Craig »

Looking for info on my great-grandmother, Mary Hoare born Co. Roscommon around 1887. Immigrated to NY while still very young--possibly with a cousin? named Bridget Ido(e) or Igo(e).
Married Patrick Joseph Craig (b 1875 IRE) in New York and had three children; John, Margaret, and Mary.
I know the surname connection to Ballykilcline, but that's still a bit early. Family has a book with the inscription: "Miss Agnes Hoare Ballytowey County Roscommon Ireland" which leads me to believe the family may have been living in Ballytoohey.
Mary may have gone back and forth between NY and Co. Roscommon several times throughout her life--and apparently had at least a few of her siblings in the US as well.

Also, 8 Igoe families in same parish.
