Sharkey's of North Roscommon

My father told me before he died that we were related to the Sharkey's of North Roscommon. However, he did not know how. His branch of the Sharkey's had some of them settle in Dayton, Ohio.<p>Any contact that would help me flesh that out would be appreciated.<p>Thanks.<p>A Dolan

I know i had an aunt winifred who lived in Maryland and at least one other in New york area , i am not sure wher the rest where but can find out of other realatives , I dont know if this is of any help anymore information i can help you with let me know <p> P Kapoor

I am very interested in your Sharkey's. I had initially thought that mine might have been from County Donegal, but I have no proof of this. I am also interested in your Aunt Winifred in MD. My mother was a Winifred Sharkey, and she had 2 cousins who were Winifred's also. One was a Winifred Sharkey Kennedy who lived in MD, and passed away a few years ago.She had a Winifred Hall(mother was a Sharkey. Supposedly the Winifred came from mom's grandmother who was (Una) Winifred ferry Sharkey. Mom's grandfather was Patrick Sharkey. He immigrated in 1851, and I have first found him in 1870 in Luzerne County PA in Hazle Tsp.I think he might have had a sister Catherine, and a brother Owen, but no confirmation. My Sharkey's had relations in Bayonne in the 1930's, don't really know who or how we were related. There was a John Sharkey also that was related(late 1880's)era also in Hazle Tsp. I am interested in your Winifred Sharkey...Meg
