My grandfather Francis Claude Payne born 14/5/1892, born in Dublin according to Miners Phthisis Pension Fund Records and Death Certificate. Immigrated to South Africa at a young age, married my grandmother Sinna Catherina Elizabeth Erasmus 31/8/1914. I would like to know more about the family history and obtain a copy of his birth certificate for an ancestral Genealogy. Can anybody help?

It is possible to get a birth cert from the Birth Registration Office here in Dublin, Ireland. You will need to get a marriage cert for your grandparents, a birth cert for your parents, a marriage cert for your parents and then your own birth cert. If one of your four grandparents is irish then you can claim a passport.
