McPartlins of Drumnafinnila

Post by Laura Flynn »

My McPartlins were from Drumnafinnila (or Drumnafinnila Bar), in Leitrim County at least from 1864-1869 possibly longer. Patrick left in May 1880 from Liverpool to New York. In May 1882 he declared his immigration intent in Cincinnati, Ohio. After Bridget Grimes death, he remarried Louise Enwright (?) in 1932 in Covington, Ky. Patricks year of birth varies on almost every document found, but his day was March 19th. His parents are confirmed to be Owen McPartlin (McPartland) and Anne Simpson, and his siblings, Catherine (did not married), Myles Michael, Anne (Gibbons), Bridget Clavin, Mary Hoffman, Thomas. I know Myles daughter, Irene McPartlin, went back to visit family in the area many times. I do have other information for other McPartlins that I do not know if or how they are linked. If you have any information on this family please contact me. Thank you!

They lived in Leitrim. Drumshanbo but appeared to have moved around. I would be interested if you have anything more on this family. Thank You!

I have 2 Myles McPartlin in my tree.
One Myles Michael McPartlin parents were Owen McPartlin and Mary Sheridan. Family rumor is that Mary Sheridan was of Scotland. This has yet to be confirmed. Myles was married to Mary Fahey of Covington, Kentucky US. One source says his date of birth was Oct. 15, 1869 in Cavan Ireland.
The other is Myles I have very little information. His parents were Owen McPartlin and Anne Simson. His birth registry gives date of birth July 19, 1866 with place of birth in Drumnafinnila. I have no other information on him.
I haven't linked your Myles with Honor to either of my Myles as of yet. There are at least 2-3 other people that definitely have those 2 in their tree. Go to Genealogy.com and Rootsweb.com and do a search on the McPartlin name. You will find the information that you are seeking there. I believe there is an link with your family but have yet to find it.
I will gladly share anything I have. Please let me know if anything comes up that you think might link them and I will do the same. :O)
Happy hunting.
Laura Wilson Flynn
