McWeeny family history

I am looking for infomation on my great great grandfather John McWeeny of East Boston, MA. He probably lived around 1850's-1920's He owned a department store in East Boston. I am trying to find out info on him as well as were he came from in Ireland.

Chris....Most of the McWeenys (or the various spellings of the name) came from County <br>Leitrim in the Carrick-on-Shannon area. My branch of the family arrived in the US in 1845 and<br>settled in Wisconsin in about 1855. I have a list of people who are researching the name and will<br>add your name to the list and send them a copy of your request if you want me to. Please let me know<p><br>

Please let me know<p>: Dear Ray,This is a bit of a long shot, but I'm in hope someone can help, my Great Grandfather Terence Gallagher ( Aughnasheelin Co Leitrim ) received a small inheritance around 1929 from the US,along with his brother Michael and sister Mrs Mary Callahan.From someone called Mcweeny.
