If the records say, "Diocese: Elphin; Parish: Boyle", does that mean the same thing as in the US, that the larger of the two divisions is Elphin and that Boyle RC Parish is only one of several parishes in that diocese? <p>This is how the heading reads from the LDS microfilm 0989743, items 1-3 of the Boyle marriages, baptisms, deaths listing some of my ancestors.<p>Then, if I'm looking at the map on this site showing the Catholic parishes, #4 Boyle & Kilbryan would be the area in which I should be looking for the townland(s) of those ancestors?<p>Finally, if that's correct, then is there a map somewhere that would show the townlands within that #4?
