It's been some time since my last posting. Found out ifo. that may help my search and perhaps others. Catherine Creamer born Dowra, Co.Leitrim father, Hugh and mother Catherine Campbell. Found my last living link in nursing home, Jim Creamer. He could not give any information. Jim's mother was Kathleen Simpson and I can't seem to find his father's name. Father died when Jim was young and he is a Creamer, I'm sure a direct link to my grandmother's brothers who stayed in Ireland. Any help would be appreciated. The Creamer's came from Tellyvacan?? Is there such a place, where?

Re: Creamer/Simpson/Campbell
The townland of Tullyveacan is in Drumreilly Parish, Co. Leitrim and is located a few miles south of the town Ballenaglera, just east of Fahy, it looks to be fairly high on the mountain, and to be planted now with forestry. All of this is perhaps five miles south of Dowra on the eastern shores of Lough Allen.
The market town of Dowra itself is in Co. Cavan, however folks in the area who lived in Leitrim would describe their place as being (blank)-Dowra. So if your ancestor was from "Dowra, Leitrim", she wasn't really from Dowra, I'm not sure if someone from Tullyveacan would also have said "Tullyveancan Dowra" as folks who were closer did, but if it was where they went to market, it's possible.
There are also some Simpsons listed on the 1901 census on this site that come from townlands which are nearby to Tullyveacan.
Sharon
Re: Creamer/Simpson/Campbell
I just ran accross another lead for you on the ancestry .com rootsweb Leitrim site; look under "hedge schools" for a posting by Jean Rice that refers to Tullyveacan and also to some famous Creamers who lived in the immediate area.
Sharon

As a quick look around these wonderful pages will show you that you need Tullyveacan where you'll find FOUR Creamer households in 1901 including one HUGH. Then if you go to the phonebook, also here, you'll find that it's now spelled Tullylackan. Further, you'll find eight Creamer's in that part of the 07 Area Code and one in a place called Tully, and a Hugh near Dowra.
