: Have MORAN ancestors found in Troy, NY 1850 census. Maternal Great Grandmother Mary A Moran, b ~ 1856, Troy, NY. Mary's father (Possibly) John Moran, b ~1832 in Balleykilcline, Parish Kilglas, Roscommon, emigrated to US in 1847. His parents may be John Moran, b ~1791 and Winifred, b ~1803, both in Ireland. John and Winifred had two other children, Catherine, b 1837 and Francis, b 1840.<p>: Mary A. (b~1856) Moran's parents were Mary Moran and John Moran, they had six children, Mary A, b ~1856; Bridgit, b ~ 1864; James, b ~ 1866; John, b ~ 1868; Kate b~ 1872; Joseph, b ~ 1874, per the NY, Rensselear County 1870 & 1880 census. <p>: Mary A. Moran, b ~1856 married James Thomas McKee, b ~ 1854. They had four children: William, b Feb 1875; James Thomas, b July 12, 1876 (My Maternal Grandfather); John, b August 10, 1878 and Dorothy, b Oct 20, 1880. I only know that she and my greatgrandfather, Martin McDonagh (McDonald) were from Co. Roscommon and emigrated to Canada sometime in the mid 1800's. My grandmother, Mary (Maeve) along w/ sisters Margaret and Delia and brothers John, Nace and Tom then emigrated to Chicago probably in the later 1870's or 80's. I have been trying to find some link to this branch of the family for years. Any help would be appreciated. <br>Regards
