I have found from my GGGrandmother's death extract Catherine Cassaday that her Father's name was Patrick Cassaday, her mother's name is not recorded.
She was born in Leitrim in 1821 and married Thomas Malone in Edinburgh, Scotland on June 10th,1848.
I would appreciate any information in regards to either Catherine or Patrick.
Regards, John

Dear John:
I also have a ggg grandmother named (after her marriage to Myles Cassidy) Catherine Cassidy. She was born at the end of the 18th century (presumably in Leitrim, at least that is where she spent the rest of her life). It seems that all members of the family spent as much time in Edinburgh as they did at home in Inishmagrath/Drumkeerin.
Her son was Andrew and his children were Ellen, Mary, Pat, and ?
There are Kates and Catherines in every generation. I believe that they may have had an "anchor" in Edinburgh to whom they went when work was needed. My g grandparents missed being counted in the 1901 census because they were working in Scotland. Three of their daughters settled permanently there. Keep these folks in mind as you do your search; they might link up somewhere.
Sharon
