I am doing genealogy research on my Lavin ancestors. They originally migrated to the USA in the late 1840's and early 1850's. Have gotten to a brick wall with the information of them coming either from town of Sligo or county of Sligo. Their names are John Lavin b.(1822) Anna Macdonnough b.(1834). They came during the potatoe famine and settled in Vermont as the birth of their oldest daughter had taken place there. They then migrated to a small town in Wisconsin called Oregon. There they lived and raised more children. One of these children became my grandfather. His name was Thomas Lavin, who eventually moved to a small town called Curtiss Wi. There he met my grandmother: Ida Neitzel and resided until 1957 when he passed away. Need to know the whereabouts of the Irish town they resided in before coming to America. Does anyone have any information on these people? I would appreciate their input. Thank you
