I am trying to locate information about Francis DEGNAN (b. ~1850/60) possibly in Rhode Island USA, possibly in Scotland or Ireland. He removed to Norwich, Connecticut USA prior to 1888. He had married Mary ROARKE or ROGNE and had a daughter Katherine Helen DEGNAN in 1888 in Norwich, as well as sons Thomas and Willard and daughter Anne. Thank you in advance for any help.<br>

I have a Patrick Degnan aged 20 years unmarried - showing in the 1881 cenus in West Calder, Edinburgh Scotland living with James and Mary O'Rorke. He was a shale miner at the Linlithgow Oil Works a mining operation. They had a daughter Mary (b circa 1870) but do not know if she married or died as a youngester.<br>Thomas, Francis, and Anne were all family names. Mary O'Rourke (b circa 1845)came from the Kilronan parish in Roscommon Eire her parents names were Terence Early and Mary/Maria Gilhooly. Any info you could give me would be most appreciated. Have you looked at death/marriage certificates etc. What about any elderly relatives/connections in the states names, places anything!<br>cheers ann<br>

Ann - I have found further information about a Francis DEGNAN who was listed in 1880 Norwich CT USA census as aged 21 (b. 1859), boarder with Anne DEGNAN, widow. Nothing further yet on Mary ROARKE or ROGNE.
