In 1999 a Nancy posted a letter about the Gorman's of Elphin. I hope she still checks out this site!
Checking on the Gorman family from the Elphin area of Roscommon. My ggg gm was Mary Gorman who married James Flanagan and lived near Strokestown. She would have been born between 1810 and 1820. Do you know the names of Michael's siblings? James and Mary had children named Thomas, Bridget, Michael and Patrick.
Can you help me out?
Rob Flanagan Stieglitz
Fargo, North Dakota
Flanagan of Cloonfree
Conroy (Conry) and Farrell of Lissonuffy

Gorman's of Elphin, Roscommon
Re: Gorman's of Elphin, Roscommon
WE have a Bridget Flanagan who married a Martin Dufficy in 1866. She died in Annaghbeg, Strokestown. My great great grandmother Anne Dufficy, who was Martin's sister was born around Elphin. WE also have an Edward Gorman , who I belive the Gormans also went by the name Gormly, and tonight Gorman was mentioned to me in a phone converstaion about our family. Any connections? Kathy

Anna Dufficy-Bernard McNamara
my great grandfather Patrick McNamara's parents were Anna Dufficy-Bernard McNamara they had also, Bernard, Michael, Martin, John, and Bridget and Mary, she stayed in Ireland. John is buried in detroit, Michigan. has O'Gormans buried with him. Does anybody know of Dufficy-McNamara's from Co. Roscommon, Ireland. Bernard Jr's year of birth is listed as 1826, possibly oldest? with Martin possibly youngest born about 1854. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks Kathleen Tracy kt72555@yahoo.com
