Has anyone out there had any success with requested searches from the Strokestown Heritage Centre?
If so,did you have to wait long for a reply.
According to an email I received in reply to an enquiry of what they had to offer they quoted a fee of 40 Euros for a family group search which they said they aim to turn around within a week.
I am interested in this service as the LDS British Isles Vital Rcords (2nd edition) does not cover the parish and dates that I am interseted in looking up.

I have used the RHC. Yes, it was slow. I think they are always behind. However, I have to say that they were very thorough, and their report was pretty good. They have access to the parish records, which can be a bear to get to otherwise(my interest was in Kilmore-Aughrim, which is effectively impossible to get to, for a variety of reasons), and if you cannot get to Ireland cheaply or often, the 40 dollars(or is it Euros now?) can actually seem quite cheap. The researcher did a good job looking for the civil records over a range of years, and a very good job in searching the parish records.

I had very good results through the Strokestown Centre. It took a several months for their first reply, but when they contacted me, they had found useful information. They quoted me a price for a detailed report (having given a listing of types of information to expect). Once they received my check, they mailed the report to me fairly quickly, arriving in about two to three weeks.
The information was surprisingly thorough. I didn't know they would find so much.
Good luck with your research.
