Baxter, Reilly, Ward, Bohan in Drumboy and Aughadrumcarn

Post by Iowalady »

I am still researching my 3rd great grandparents family. Patrick and Bridget (Reilly) Baxter who married in St. Patricks in Mohill in 1845 had several children. One being Michael Baxter who married a Kate Ward. They resided in Drumboy and took over the family home. Michael and Kate had a daughter Ellie who married a John Ward, son of Michael and Lizzie Ward of Drumraghool South, and they inturn also took over the family home in Drumboy. Ellie and John had a son Sam who still resides in Drumboy across from the family home. Michael Wards father was John Ward also of Drumraghool. John had a brother Patrick Ward and his wife Rose who resided in Drumregan. Somewhere along the line there is a connection to the Bohans of Aughadrumcarn. I am trying to put these families together and have been trying for ages. As for the Reilly family, I have NOTHING and cant seem to find out anything on my 3rd grt grandmother.

Post by Jim Bohan »

I thought we solved this one time. John Bohan from Glasdrumman Mohill m Rose McQueeney in 1852 in Mohill. One son was my grandfather on my mothers side ,Charles. Another son Michael b 2/11/1857 m Lizzie Ward from Drumrahool townland on Feb. 14,1895 at St. Patricks in Mohill. They lived on Drumahool South in 1901 Census. Her father was James Ward from Drumrahool. One of their children Mary Jane b 6/26/1897 m Bernard Bohan (yes) from Aghadrumcarn (locally known as Aughrim). They were married on 8/8/1928 in Mohill. I found her daughter and have visited with her in Florida and recently visited other Bohan family members on Aughrim in Leitrim. God Bless Jim Bohan

John at this time I am just not sure who is related to my Bohans. The Bohan name is pretty new to me.
