James I ned your help. I am trying to find the connections(plural) with the Bohans from Cornulla Cloone and my Bohans from Labbyeslin Mohill gorvagh district. I will send you info and post on site for others. We now think the Bohans from Labbyeslin came from Cornulla Cloone. I have a ton of research already. We are attempting to work back before 1850. God Bless Jim Bbohan

Hi Jim
At the moment I don't have a lot on families in Cloone other than my own. I keep coming up with possible links to other families however so I intend, in the New Year, to go back to the Cloone parish records and do a major search there. I will look for Bohans whilst I am there.
I do have some contact with a Bohan family in Drumkielvy who are some relation (as yet undefined) to my family, so I may ask them to see if they have any connections.
Also I had a mail from another Bohan researcher (Tommy Bohan)who I couldn't help but he is also looking for Bohans who may be from Cornulla. His mail addresss was (and I hope still is) tommy@edergole.fsnet.co.uk
his mail said--
"I was in touch with you to see if you had any information on the BOHANS of Cloone, particularly the townlands of Edergole or Cornulla. My grandfathers name was Joseph Bohan. My Grandfather Joe was born around 1873, approx, He was a man of large propotions apparently and went by the name of Big Joe."
Looking at the 1901 Census there is a Joseph Bohun of the right age in Cornulla, the son of Patrick and Bridget.
On another track I don't know if you have tried the Valuation Records?
They show who held land, at periodic intervals, from about 1860 right up to the current time. They can be awkward to use, as you can never tell which (say) Patrick Bohun, for example, they are referring to, but they do fill in a lot of the picture.
All the best
Jim
