Castlestrange Cemetery

Post by sam »

If family members died in the Castlestrange area between 1905 and 1940 what cemetery would they use.

Hello,It would depend on whether the person was Roman Catholic or another denomination.
I know that my cousin's family is buried in the cemetery at Fuerty which is Roman Catholic and my forebears were buried there early in the 1900s around the 1915 mark.
I have a list of some of the people buried there so if you give me a name I will look it up.
My list is NOT complete.

There are three Cuddys listed in the Fuerty Churchyard Gravesite the numbers are 65,66 and 67.
If you stand at the front of the graveyard they would be close to the front before the ancient gravesites.
Of course I have no detailed information as to dates etc. and I don't know if these are your Cuddys.
I found no Cahills.
Good Luck

Hello Sam,The fact that there is a record of the burial doesn't necessarily mean that there is a marker,I know my family is buried there but when I went to see there was no marker.
I hope you are luckier
