A committee has been formed to collect and publish a history of the Sliabh Ban area of County Roscommon. This district incorporates the old parishes of Cloonfinlaugh and Lisonuffy which are now serviced by churches at Carniska and Curraghroe. Any information of a historical or genealogical nature - especially old photographs - would be gratefully appreciated. Any material supplied will be returned as received. Anybody who wishes to help us with this project can e-mail me for more details.

According to grandfather, our family (originally Mac Branain) owned much land on or near Sliabh Ban. I would be interested in getting a copy of the history when published. Please keep me updated.
