Just registered with the site, been browsing for some time though.

I'm looking for Denis McGowan and Mary McGowan nee. Rine/Ryan? (not too sure of surname). They would have lived in Leitrim and born around 1842 - this is only an educated guess though, it could have been a few years either way.

Their son James married Ellen Rooney in 1892 in Manorhamilton, and they travelled over to Scotland at the same time (where I am from).

I have learned quite a lot about my McGowan ancestors who live in Scotland, however I am very interested in learning more about my family in Leitrim who stayed behind.

If anything is ringing any bells with anyone, please let me know,

Thanks, had a look at that there.

On James's death certificate it says Mary Rine, but I know that it could maybe have been Ryan, would it have been possible that it was originally Rooney? Does anyone know?
