I've been using the site off and on for the last couple of years and am running into a couple of stumbling blocks regarding my Grandfathers background. My gf Andrew Collins was born in Ballymoe in July of 1904 (possibly in Glinsk, Clooncullen or Gortnadeeve) His parents were Patrick Collins and Brigid O'Neill. I have the O'Neill side going back to her gf my gggf. I'm lost as to where Patrick Collins came into the picture and where he was originally from.
Any help is appreciated!

Re: Collins
It may not be relevant but my grandmother was Catherine Collins born 1875 in Rabbitboro, Ballinlough. Her father was Patrick Collins and he married a Honore Flaherty in 1868 in Granlahan Church. They had 4 children Patrick born 1869, James born 1871, Thomas born 1873 and Catherine born 1875. You could look in that area.

Re: ONeill's of Ballymoe, Galway/Roscommon
My ancestors were born in Ballymoe in a town called Leamore, Ballymoe. My grandmother, Mary Anne Casey, immigrated to Baltimore, Maryland around 1880. Her parents, Thomas and Mary (Dignan) Casey, remained in Ballymoe. Through the years my aunt corresponded with my grandmother's sisters, Jane and Margaret Casey. When they died, she wrote to a niece named Margaret, who later married a Michael O'Neill. They continued to live in Leamore, Ballymoe. I have pictures of the O'Neils and their three children; the photos are dated 1955. Since my aunt's death,we have lost touch with this family. I feel certain that you are related to these same O'Neils and if you would like to see the photos, please let me know. Linda
