I have a Catherine McGarty married Matthew McCarton (an?) on November 11, 1835. As far as I can tell, they had 3 children: Elizabeth 1836, Matthew 1840, and Matthew 1852. Various sponsors of these children were: Phelim McCarton, Sara McGarty, and Daniel McGarty.

Mary McGarty married Patrick Drum, Stonemason of Enniskillen, Co. Fermanagh, at Mohill Catholic Church on 9 May 1861. Sponsors were Charles Reilly and Bessy Dooley.

Mary was daughter of Patrick McGarty, farmer, and Margaret (Murray).

They had 2 sons James & John before emigrating to New Zealand o/b MV "Dauntless" out of Dublin on 31st December 1864, arriving Auckland, New Zealand, on 15 May 1865.

Don't know anything more about them and unable to establish where their sons were born or where they lived between marriage and emigration.

Perhaps Mary was related to your McGarty family, perhaps not. Appreciate knowing if you find a link/reference in your search.
