Does anyone have knowledge of the book entitled White Cargo by Don Jordan?? I have read clips of the book and it is stating that in the 1600's Irish were shipped to the west as slaves. I find that so unbelievable. What say anyone??

I don't know anything about White Cargo, but there is To Hell or Barbados: The Ethnic Cleansing of Ireland by Sean O'Callaghan re the "incidents" between 1656 and 1659 where over 50,0000 Irish men, women and children were basically kidnapped and transported to Barbados and Virginia. As I understand it, this only stopped when they started picking up Protestant "elites" by mistake. Only the Catholics were supposed to be slave material.
