CRAVEN Mary; SLI,IRL; c.1900<p>Searching for anyone bearing the family name CRAVEN, or descendants of<br>that line.<br>Family narrative places a mature MARY CRAVEN living in Tubbercurry, Co.<br>Sligo Ireland around 1917. She may have had the maiden name of West. It<br>is believed the family was of English descent. If, indeed, she was a West<br>by birth, she would have had brothers, John and William and sisters<br>Susan, Eliza and Elizabeth. The sisters and brother John all arrived in<br>the USA between 1850 - 1875. The sisters carried the married names of <br>Willans and Ebury, there were other children of that family who remain<br>unnamed, some were unmarried and did not leave Ireland.<br>Does anyone have any information that relates to this connection? This district, in turn, apparently took it's name from a word for wild garlic which apparently used to be common there (indeed in my childhood I often smelt wild garlic on the air.)<br>
