Iam trying to locate where Travers family originated
in Ireland and was told Co Leitrim is a possibility.
His great grandfather was Owen Travers and his
wife was Ann, She arrived in Phila April 1864 with
children but without him. She may have a widow.
One of the children was my hesband's grandfather
Edward. He stayed in Phila and owned a tavern. He
died in 1882 at the age of 32. Any info would be
greatly appreciated.

I
don't know if I'm related to your Travers, however.
My gggrandfther was Bartholomew Travers married to
Catherine Rooney or Mooney. They were from Co.
Leitrim either the Dromohair or Manorhamiliton area.
They settled in Manhatten and they did have a son
named Owen. It seems these were the two main Travers families from
Co. Leitrim so if we trace them back I'm sure there
is a connection. Hope so. Let me know. Jeanne
